As the thought and search for a cat began, I got to the Corner shops
around my house in Gwarimpa Estate Abuja. Gwarimpa Estate is one of the largest
estates in the entire Africa. And Corner Shops are a mimi or semi market where
things are sold and bought. Meanwhile, in the day time earliar, I had seen some
little cats of some weeks old around the Corner Shops, so I went in search of
them and it was around 9pm. Low and behold, one of the little cats came towards
me while her siblings run for to hide.
So I got her; brought her home and she would be called Bety. And that
was the name thereof.
That first night was a sleepless one for both I and Bety. She was
crying all night and because she was probably missing her siblings and mother
since their father is always nowhere to found in the cat family.
I think it was this huge cry on the first night that sacred all the
rats away completely
But I assured Bety that it will be fine here and no more sleeping under
the rock, tables etc in the cold out there. But she will have do do some little
work for me and it is simple: end the rat regime in the house’ and you will
have all you need.
That night, I have her milk and she graciously drank it looking for
more. but once the milk finishes, she will begin another round of cry….pweee,
pweeh….pweeeeeeewwww.
I hope is not only food you can to eat here, I often retort pointing at
Bety. But it was not only food. Truly, that her cry alone signaled the rat institution
that their regime was over in that house. One after another they all left… without
any quarrel.
wow.
wow.
